About

The West End Gospel Choir came into being after a discussion  regarding the desire to expand Christian relations within the theatrical world of the West End in which we work.

The idea and vision was to set up a community we craved, in the form of a gospel choir, where people in the theatre/music industry, in and out of work artists, were free to gather in a relaxed environment and explore Gospel and Spiritual music.

St. Saviour’s Church in Knightsbridge offered us a home and from this came a leap of faith. From then until now we have watched a small seed grow. What began with 12 people and 2 songs, has exploded into a 30+ choir with an extensive repertoire consisting of wide and varied range of musical styles and genres.

The West End Gospel Choir is made up of a community of performers from the West End and music circuit, along with those who have or are currently appearing in a variety of West End productions including; SISTER ACT, WE WILL ROCK YOU, WICKED, DREAMBOATS AND PETTICOATS, JOSEPH, LOVE NEVER DIES, DIRTY DANCING, DANCING IN THE STREETS, JERRY SPRINGER, THE LION KING, ROCKY HORROR SHOW, CHICAGO and LES MISERABLES.

The choir has appeared on SKINS for Channel 4, BBC RADIO, THE WHATSONSTAGE AWARDS, WEST END LIVE and JULIE ATHERTON’S album.
